I had a difficult time figuring out how to create an ISO file with Nero. I figured it out myself by merging Google results with clicking around their less-than-intuitive navigation. Here some the simple directions I came up with, I hope it helps others.
1. Open Nero Simple Start.
2. Click the “Back up” tab on the top.
3. Click “Copy Disk”. This launches Nero Express.
4. Instead of using the Nero Express options, click the left arrow button docked into the left side of the window.
5. Click “Switch to Nero Burning Rom”
6. Press cancel at the wizard prompt.
7. From the file menu, click Extras >> Save Data Track.
8. Click “Save Track…”
9. Name your ISO file and browse to the folder you want the file saved to.
10. Change the “Save as type:” format from .NRG to .ISO
These instructions are for Nero 9. I haven’t tried it with other versions.
